Make the most of your membership!

Andrew SteinMost people that I speak to about the Chamber are looking for ways to grow their businesses...that's the main reason that they joined. I have been a member for 8 years, and on average attend 2-3 Chamber-related activities PER WEEK! (Oftentimes more) I'm not doing this because I'm the ultimate volunteer, but because this is how I do business...

President's Message

Wilda Parks, ACE; President/CEO
 Wilda Parks
IT affects us more than we may think

IT is with us daily, part of our daily habits, creeping insidiously into our work and personal lives. We often just accept IT, sometimes we try to find ways to banish IT, but seldom, yet anyhow, do we succeed.

Profit in a highly competitive market

The April luncheon will feature Aaron Crowley, President of Crowley's Granite Concepts, Inc & Author of Less Chaos More Cash. He will present the four core competencies for success in business:
1. Specialize - Become the indispensable resource

2. Forecast Revenue & Control Cost - Act fast to make and save cash
3. Become Process Dependent - Processes = Promises Kept
4. Secure World Class Advice - He (or she) who walks with the wise grows wise

Take Shape For LifeThis workshop begins by highlighting the danger of focusing on the competition instead of "succeeding" in business then transitions into a highly relevant overview of how to adopt these 4 principles in a business.

The events are sponsored by Take Shape For Life, Kim Trewhella.

You can mail them or drop them by the Chamber office.

What's important to you and your community?

Have you ever wanted to share your views about parks, transportation, recycling or other issues that affect your quality of life? Now's your chance. Support non-profit that focuses on youth

The Children's CourseThe Children's Course, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, has been in operation since 1996.  It is a nine-hole par three golf course open to the public.  However, the primary purpose of the organization is to create opportunities for young people to learn about core values, life skills and wellness using the game of golf as a teaching platform. The outreach program focuses on serving at-risk youth, disadvantaged children and young people with special needs.  More than 70% of their operating budget comes from fundraising efforts.
